The 2026 FIFA World Cup will resume in September 2026 with a trip to Chad, followed by a crucial home game against Mali for Ghana.

The clash against Mali is a must-win game for the Black Stars as it will help them stay clear ahead of the Eagles, who, on paper, are still the most dangerous challengers, even though they continue to disappoint.

Ghana’s inability to provide top-notch venues for FIFA and CAF-organised competitions has become a major concern, as only the Accra Sports Stadium meet the standard FIFA requires now.

“At the moment, the only approved venue for Black Stars matches is the Accra Sports Stadium. That will host Black Stars games in September and October,” Henry Asante, Communication director for the Ghana Football Association, told 3Sports.

GFA has confirmed to end the discussion concerning where the nation will host the last two home games of the qualifiers.

After six rounds of games, the Black Stars sit on top of Group I, having won five games to stay three points ahead of Comoros.

Ghana’s two home games left are against Mali and Comoros, and these two games will be played at the Accra Sports Stadium. The two away fixtures are against Chad and the Central African Republic.
