Demands Payment for Unauthorised BroadcastsPublished 5 months ago on March 10, 2025, by Emmanuel Sarpong
Nigerian actress, film producer, and scriptwriter Omoni Oboli has strongly criticised some television stations in Ghana for airing her movies without obtaining the necessary licenses.
Earlier in the year, Nigerian actress Omoni Obosi criticised Ghanaian TV stations and even called them ‘clowns’ for piracy.
Omoni wrote on social media:
“I love my Ghanaian besties, colleagues, and friends, but you see those TV stations in Ghana, I’m coming for you! The guts to show my movies without licensing! If dem no arrest one of una, you won’t learn! Watch out! Coming for every one of you!”
“You have no idea how much work goes into these projects. The sleepless nights I have!”
“I’m coming for it all! You will pay for every one of my movies you have shown without permission! In 2025, you don’t understand that’s IP theft?!!! Maybe you don’t have a television authority in Ghana, but that is not my concern! Coming for you all! Clowns! Thanks to my Ghanaian besties for always sending me screenshots.”
Bimbo Ademoye, after Omoni’s warning in a month later also went berserk on Ghanaian stations for airing her new project without her consent.
“That TV station in Ghana—I’m talking to you—doesn’t show my movies. I haven’t given you permission. Before, I used to say, ‘At least come to me, let’s discuss it and share…’ but now, I don’t want your money. Don’t show my movies. To all the TV stations in Ghana showing my movies, I haven’t given any of you permission,” she said via Instagram.
The latest Nigerian star to express his or her concern about movie piracy by Ghanaian TV stations is Nosa Rex.
The 40-year-old has also expressed his unhappiness in the entire Entertainment industry after he noticed that his movie had been aired by one of the TV stations.
Nosa said;
“I always say this, the Ghanaian entertainment industry will continue to be behind because of this uncalled-for behaviour”.
Nigerians are mad with the Ghanaian entertainment industry for undermining their efforts.
