Thomas Frank knew the capabilities of the man he was signing with 55 million pounds from West Ham.

Mohammed Kudus is unquestionably one of the finest playmakers in English football after dazzling in West Ham’s shirt for two years, even though his sophomore season was nowhere near his debut one.

Tottenham Hotspur opened their campaign with a 3-0 win over newly promoted side Burnley, where they accompanied the victory with a real swagger.

Brazil international Richarlison, who has struggled in Tottenham’s colours since moving from Everton, looks like he is getting his groove back with the signing of Kudus.

The Ghanaian and the Brazilian looked so solid when they faced PSG in the UEFA Super Cup on last Wednesday in Udine, where they lost on penalties after a 2-2 draw in regulation time.

They continued their fine combination on Saturday afternoon, where Mohammed Kudus’s two gorgeous crosses were finished off with aplomb by Richarlison.

Thomas Frank was delighted with the Brazilians impact

“We are very aware we need to build him and protect him. We can’t say that because he played back-to-back games that he is out of the woods; we need to prove it for a little bit longer. But the first signs are good,” Frank said.

“He’s driving the team, link-up play, hold-up play, just dominating. The two finishes, I’m so, so happy on his behalf. Again, the performance department and, medical department did a top job to build him.

“He was not involved in the first friendly because we had to build him, and that will be continuous; it’s something we need to do throughout the season. This is only the second game of the season; it’s a long way home, but very positive today with him.”

Richarlison praises Kudus

“I think this guy (Kudus) is a Brazilian with his ability to dribble”, Richarlison said during the post-match conference with Sky Sports.

Tottenham Hotspur fans will wish that the partnership between the two will take them far this season.

The club is on the verge of agreeing a deal with Crystal Palace for the 27-year-old Eberechi Eze, who will also bring the best out of Kudus and Richarlison.
