Unai Emery wants to bolster his attack with the signing of the out-of-favour Chelsea’s Senegalese forward.

The 24-year-old’s future at Chelsea is uncertain after the club signed Brazilian forward Joao Pedro and English striker Liam Delap from Brighton & Hove Albion and Ipswich Town, respectively.

Jackson was left out of Chelsea’s squad that drew goalless against the in-form Crystal Palace on Sunday in the club’s opening game of the season.

It intensified speculations that Jackson is not part of Maresca’s plans and hence must look for offers.

Reports from Aston Villa say Spanish manager Unai Emery is a fan of the versatile Senegalese striker, having coached him at Villarreal.

Chelsea once slapped a £80 million price tag on Jackson, and it remains unknown how much they will demand for his signature.

Chelsea are confident he can add a lot to their long season and hence are n ot in a rush to sel,l but a fee between £60 and £70 million can convince them to offload him.

Jackson joined Chelsea in 2023 from Spanish side Villarreal in a deal worth £32 million.
