Ghanaian duo Fatawu Issahaku and Alidu Seidu of Leicester City and Rennes suffered career-threatening injuries, which kept them out for nearly a year. They were missed by their clubs because they are an integral part of the squad.
Black Stars also missed their influence because they have been part of the team for the last four years.
Both were included in Otto Addo’s squad for rounds 9 and 10 of the 2026 FOFA World Cup, much to the delight of Ghanaians.
Ahead of Ghana’s crucial fixture in Meknes against CAR, head coach Otto Addo expressed his excitement to be back in the two final games.
“I’m very happy for them”, Otto Addo said. You can’t take it for granted to come back strong as they have from what I saw from their games”, he continued.
“They really deserve it to be back; they are doing well in their league, so I’m very happy for them to be back,” he concluded.
Fatawu Issahaku has been one of the best players in the English Championship after scoring some brilliant goals for the Foxes.
Rennes’ Seidu has bounced back and has been enjoying some minutes in the French top flight.
The two are expected to start against CAR on Wednesday afternoon.
