24-year-old Malian midfielder Mohamed Camara who plays for AS Monaco has been given a four-match ban for covering the LGBTQ + logo in France.

French sports minister, Amélie Oudéa-Castéra, called for the strictest of sanctions for Camara after he disrespected the French authorities.

On May 19, 2024, the Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) celebrated the World Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia. Mohamed Camara covered the campaign logo of the event during a French Ligue game making French authorities angry.

As a result of Mohamed Camara deciding to not follow their rules, the Malian international has been suspended for four matches, the French Football League (LFP) disclosed.

The Malian midfielder is expected to miss Monaco’s first four games of the 2024-25 season in France.
