Samuel Armah, also known as Kofi Nyan, the fisherman featured in a viral video for sexually abusing a 13-year-old girl as a way to settle an alleged theft of Ghc 800 from him, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.

In the video, Kofi Nyan is heard saying to the teenager, “I will talk to you.” “The cost is Gh¢200 for one hour of the service.” The event occurred in a low-income area in Mumford, located in the Central Region.

The accused enticed the victim with the intention of sexually assaulting her after claiming that she had stolen GH₵800.

The Cape Coast Circuit Court 2 found Nyan, a father of nine, guilty of defilement after he admitted to the charge.

The judge in charge called the act “shameful and inhumane,” emphasising the importance of imposing strong sentences in cases that involve minors.

Prosecutors stated that investigations showed the victim stole only GHC60.  The court has been receiving praise from Ghanaians for the swift justice on the issue.
