The Super Clash will kick off on Sunday at 4 pm at the Accra Sports Stadium, where Hearts of Oak will welcome perennial rivals Asante Kotoko.

Unquestionably, the Super Clash is the biggest fixture in the Ghanaian football calendar as everybody stops doing everything to focus on the match that has divided families and friends since the late 1950s.

The two teams will face each other, having won their previous league matches with Phobia winning 2-1 at Holy Stars while the Porcupine Warriors bounced back to winning ways against Karela in the 4-2 thriller.

Referee Reginald Collins, 29, who has officiated 31 Premier League games, has been severely criticised for being changed by Hearts of Oak, with the NCC chairman, Yussif Abdulai, stating that he doesn’t trust him because he stays closer to the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.

Asante Kotoko swiftly countered Phobia’s claims through Chairman Solo stating that it is never true that the referee is a Kotoko fan and will favour them.

This referee’s accusations have been condemned by many because they will put him under pressure.

The Super Clash has always been this intense before, during and after the game, so Reginald, who officiated Kotoko’s 3-2 win over Phobia in the 2022-23 season at the Kumasi Stadium, must take note.

Hearts of Oak are unbeaten in the season so far after winning four and drawing four in the eight games.

Asante Kotoko, due to the 2025-26 CAF Confederation Cup, have three games in hand and remains unbeaten, having won three and drawn two.

The Super Clash witness two long-time friends who worked together at Kotoko from 2012 to 2014. Kotoko’s Abdul-Karim Zito referred to Hearts of Oak’s Mas-Ud Didi Dramani as a brother, but they will put the bromance aside and fight for the three points.
