Round 12 of the Ghana Premier League promises to be cagey and fascinating after the last outstanding game was played in Nzema, where Holy Stars defeated Asante Kotoko 2-1 on Wednesday.
Week 12 will see Hearts of Oak host Vision FC at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium on Saturday. Hearts of Oak have won just one in their last five games, with pressure mounting on head coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani and the playing body from the fans. Vision has drawn their last three games, and the trip to face Hearts of Oak is crucial because just four points separate the two teams.
Bechem United won a point at Medeama, and the visit of Hohoe United can help the Bechem-based club to record their third win at home this season. Bechem United have not been so good this season, but have been excellent at home, having won two and drawn three of the five games played at home. Hohoe United have won just two points from possible fifteen in away games and will need to start winning games away from home to remain in the league.
Berekum Chelsea in Berekum at the Golden City Park will welcome Samartex SC. Chelsea lost 3-1 at Aduana, and Samartex drew goalless against Kotoko. Both teams will be determined to pick all three points.
League leaders Aduana Stars will face Gold Stars in Bibiani, as Heart of Lions in Kpando host Karela United.
Nations FC will travel to face Basake Holy Stars. Holy Stars under Johnson Smith ended Kotoko’s unbeaten run to the season with a 2-1 win over the Porcupine Warriors. The visit of Nations will present a different challenge, but Smith, a former assistant coach of Nations, knows the visitors too well and is expected to sink his former side.
Young Apostles will travel to All Blacks in Sweduru as the beleaguered Eleven Wonders hosts Dreams FC.
Asante Kotoko at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi will welcome Medeama. Asante Kotoko will aim to return to winning away after the 2-1 defeat to Holy Stars in midweek, ending their undefeated run to date.
All games will kick off at 3 pm except Hearts of Oak v Vision, Asante Kotoko v Medeama and Eleven Wonders v Dreams which all will start at 4 pm.
