Rebecca Akufo-Addo commissions new library for Achimota Primary School

Former First Lady Rebecca Akufo-Addo has commissioned a newly constructed and fully furnished library for Achimota Primary School, the institution where she began her early education.

Announcing the development in a statement on 26th November, Mrs. Akufo-Addo described the occasion as a heartfelt moment of giving back to the school that played a pivotal role in shaping her formative years. She expressed gratitude to the founders and teachers of Achimota for the values and academic grounding they instilled in her.

The modern library facility features a wide collection of books, computers, and a child-friendly reading area, all aimed at promoting both literacy and digital skills among pupils. The project also aligns with broader efforts to enhance foundational learning and improve access to educational resources for young learners.

Mrs. Akufo-Addo noted that the initiative reflects the ongoing work of The Rebecca Foundation, which continues to support educational infrastructure across the country. She emphasised that creating conducive learning environments remains central to the Foundation’s mission of uplifting children and helping them realise their potential.
