The 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers are in full swing with Group I getting much interesting.

Ghana beat Mali 2-1 in Bamako on Thursday night to move to second place of the group hoping Madagascar will beat Comoros on Friday for the group to be wide open.

Central African Republic defeated Chad 1-0 on Wednesday.

Auxerre midfielder Rayan Raveloson scored in each half for Madagascar to defeat Comoros.

Comoros were full of confidence heading into the game after winning their first two games including a beautiful 1-0 win against Ghana.

Madagascar’s win means that three teams have 6 points in the group. They top Group I with Comoros and Ghana in second and third respectively.

Mali sits 4th with 4 points while the Central African Republic is 5th with 4 points as well.

Chad occupies the bottom place having lost all three games and conceded seven goals with just one scored.

Matchday 4 will change the group standings as Ghana prepares to battle the Central African Republic in Kumasi. Comoros will travel to Chad while Madagascar will host Mali in make or break tie for the Eagles.
