Contrary to recent social media claims, musician Black Sherif has not been ordered by an Adentan court to pay GH¢229,500 in rent arrears.

Court documents reveal that the case, filed by Dr. Evelyn Esi Awittor, is still at its preliminary stage in District Court 1 at Adenta. The hearing has been adjourned, with both parties scheduled to appear on March 3, 2026.

The GH¢229,500 figure circulating online represents a claim by the plaintiff for alleged unpaid rent as of July 31, 2025 — it is not a court judgment.

Additionally, the property in question has been under attachment by the Accra High Court since February 2024 due to unrelated legal matters, and is not Black Sherif’s personal residence.

Reliable sources confirm the premises serve as the office and studio space for the Road Boys Association (RBA), his creative collective and record label.

The court has not issued any payment order, and the trial has yet to begin. All legal arguments will be properly addressed when the parties reconvene in court next March.

This clarification comes as a reminder to verify online reports before drawing conclusions about ongoing legal matters.
