Michael Carrick has stunned the football world after beating the two best teams in England in his first two games as a manager for Manchester United.

The former Red Devils midfielder was appointed as the replacement for Ruben Amorim two weeks ago and did not waste much time by breaking the Manchester City machine into pieces in the 2-0 home win in the Manchester Derby.

He continued with a record breajing 3-2 win over the much-fancied Arsenal on Sunday afternoon in London.

Arsenal had not lost to Manchester United at home in the league since 2017. The Gunners had not lost any hoime game since they lost 1-0 to PSG in the semi-finals of the UCL last season.

After Manchester United’s 3-2 victory at the Emirates, Michael Carrick thanked his staff and players for quickly understanding his methods and philosophy, which has helped the club move into the top 4

“I give a lot of credit to the staff and players in terms of how much they’ve invested and how much they’ve bought into it. It’s alright trying to help them and say certain things, but they’ve got to live it, and they have done”, Carrick said.

“You can see that with boys coming off the bench, and it’s a collective feeling. It’s great when it comes together, and everyone’s in it, and we can celebrate with the fans at the end. It’s important and a big moment. My kids were in there, they’re not kids anymore, that in itself is emotional, it’s the passion, the excitement of these types of games, and to come out on top is fantastic”, he added.

Manchester United will host Fulham on Sunday at Old Trafford, with the club preparing intensively to record three successive wins to remain in the top 4.
