All eyes were firmly fixed on the draw for the Champions League play-off on Friday morning.
After an intriguing league phase where some clubs shockingly lost their places and some qualified on the final day, 16 teams are set to fight for eight places to join the top eight teams of the league phase in the round of 16.
Fixtures and dates
First Legs will be played on Tuesday and Wednesday, February 18–19, while the return legs will be played on February 25–26.
German side Borussia Dortmund will host Atalanta in the first leg before travelling to Italy in the return fixture.
Bayer Leverkusen will lock horns against Greek side Olympiacos, with the Germans hosting the first leg.
Galatasaray will face Italian giants Juventus in Turkey in the first leg before travelling to Turin, with Club Brugge entertaining Atlético de Madrid.
Newcastle United will travel to Qarabag in Azerbaijan before welcoming them to the dangerous St. James Park for the second leg.
Benfica, which recorded a famous 4-2 over Real Madrid in round 8 of the league phase, will meet once again. The first leg will be played in Portugal.
The biggest fixture of all will be the French derby, where Monaco will host the defending champions PSG in the first leg before they visit Paris for the return leg.
Giant killers Bodo/Glimt from Norway will square off against last season’s runner-up, Inter Milan, with the first leg to be played in Norway.
