The Eastern Regional Police Commander, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Mr Joseph Owusu-Bempah, has warned political trouble makers popularly known as Machomen to stay off tomorrow’s New Patriotic Party (NPP), Presidential Primaries in the Eastern Region.

According to him, the police are fully prepared and will deal ruthlessly with anyone who will come and forment trouble at the voting centres.

The Eastern Regional Police Commander, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Mr Joseph Owusu-Bempah, made the disclosure after the Show of Force by the Police to indicate their preparedness and readiness towards the NPP Primaries scheduled for tomorrow, 31st January, 2026.

They March through the principal streets of the Eastern Regional Capital, Koforidua to showcase their readiness for the task ahead.

Briefing the media on security arrangement, DCOP Owusu-Bempah, the Eastern Regional Police Commander said, 1,434 security personnel would be deployed across the Eastern region.

DCOP Owusu-Bempah explained that, each of the 11 constituencies within the Eastern region will get 125 Police personnel each, two rapid response team as well as 100 men on standby.

He explained to Metro News that there is also a special deployment of the Critical Incident Intervention – (CIT) team from the police headquarters, Accra.

To this end, DCOP Owusu-Bempah has assured journalists and delegates who will be participating in the voting process of adequate security.
