The 15-year prison sentence of controversial evangelist Nana Agradaa has been reduced to 12 calendar months. The Amasaman High Court ruled that the original punishment was harsh and excessive.

In its decision, the court affirmed her conviction but exercised its discretion to vary the sentence, reducing it from the trial court’s initial 15 years of hard labour.

The revised sentence takes effect on the date of her conviction, July 3, 2025, meaning Nana Agradaa will serve a total of 12 months in prison.

The court held that while the offence for which she was convicted warranted punishment, the severity of the original sentence was disproportionate under the circumstances, justifying a downward adjustment.
