Central Region: 37-year-old teacher commits suicide

A teacher at Faith Academy Basic School in Assin Dompim, located in the Assin Fosu Municipality of the Central Region, has been discovered deceased in an apparent suicide.

The police are looking into the details of the incident. The individual who passed away has been identified as Emmanuel Kofi Quainoo, age 37.

According to sources at the school, he had not been present for work for a period and returned on March 3, 2026.

Colleagues reported that he left the school around noon after the second break, notifying staff that he was feeling unwell and needed to go home for medical care.

Later in the day, reports indicated that he had reportedly hanged himself in his room at Assin Fosu.

His two daughters, who are eight years old, reportedly found him when they came home from school and then called for help.
