Federal prosecutors in Texas have charged rapper Pooh Shiesty (Lontrell Williams Jr.) and fellow artist Big30 (Rodney Wright Jr.) in connection with a coordinated armed “takeover” of a Dallas recording studio in January 2026, where they allegedly kidnapped and robbed Gucci Mane (Radric Davis).
According to the U.S. Department of Justice, the incident stemmed from a dispute over a recording contract with Gucci Mane’s 1017 Records.
Prosecutors claim the group lured Gucci Mane and two others to the studio under the guise of a business meeting, only to hold them at gunpoint.
During the ambush, Pooh Shiesty allegedly brandished an AK-style pistol and forced Gucci Mane to sign paperwork releasing him from his record deal.
While Shiesty was in a private room with the label head, his associates—including his father, Lontrell Williams Sr.—allegedly robbed other victims in the studio of luxury items such as Rolex watches, jewellery, and cash.
Big30 is accused of using his body to barricade the studio door, preventing the victims from escaping while they feared for their lives.
A total of nine suspects have been charged with conspiracy to commit kidnapping, with eight already in custody following arrests in Dallas, Memphis, and Nashville.
Investigators used surveillance footage, rental car records, and electronic monitoring data—which placed Pooh Shiesty at the scene while he was supposed to be on home detention—to build the case.
If convicted, the defendants face a maximum sentence of life in prison.
