“Looking at what is being done to me now, I may be one term MP for Ejisu” – Lawyer Kwabena Boateng

Kwabena Boateng looked the perfect replacement for the late Lawyer John Ampontuah Kumah, who was the Member of Parliament for Ejisu Constituency between 2021 and 2024.

After John Kuma’s sudden demise in 2024, Kwabena Boateng won the Ejisu By-election, contested by six candidates, including Kwabena Owusu Aduomi, the former MP for Ejisu.

It looked like Kwabena Boateng was going to serve in the seat for at least two terms, but he is now feeling sceptical due to pressure from the party’s supporters.

On his Facebook account, Lawyer Kwabena Boateng informed his followers that he may not get the opportunity to lead the party in the Ejisu Constituency in the 2028 General Elections.

“Looking at what is being done to me now, I may or may not succeed in the fight to secure my next term in Parliament,” the lawyer wrote.

Lawyer Kwabena Boateng is known to be a staunch fan of Kennedy Agyapong, who engaged in a fierce contest against Dr Mahamudu Bawumia for the NPP’s flagbearer role for the 2028 General Elections.

Members of the NPP in the Ejisu Constituency declared their support for Bawumia, which divided the party gurus in the constituency.

Due to his support for Kennedy Agyapong, he has now become unpopular since Bawumia won the flagbearer ticket, with many wanting him out of the party.

He continued, “Whatever happens to me, I know I served my dear NPP well with my gift and strength. The good thing is that I did nothing wrong”.

Lawyer Kwabena Boateng looked to have waved the Ejisu Constituency a sad goodbye, saying that he is at no fault.

His leadership in the Ejisu Constituency has been described as indifferent, with fans divided over his performances.
