Group A ended with Argentina winning every onpponent without conceding a single goal. Legendary Lionel Messi was not involed in the 2-0 win over Peru on Sunday morning.

Manchester United’s teenager Alejandro Garnacho replaced Messi on the right wing with Angel Di Maria on the left and Lautaro Martinez upfront.

It was a win or bust for Peru as only victory could have extended their stay in the USA.

At the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens in Florida, Lautaro Martinez scored twice to send Peru home. The goals came in the second half with Angel Di Maria providing assist for the first goal.

Leandro Parades missed a penalty in the 72nd minute.

Argentina are simply back to their brilliant best as they look extremely dangerous and well organise in the ongoing Copa America.

Canada drew goalles against Chile in Orlando, Florida at the Inter& Co Stadium to book their place in the last eight. Gabriel Suazo of Toulouse received a second yellow card in the 27th minute making life a tough one for Ricardo Gareca’s Chile.

Led by the veterans Maripan, Isla, Eduardo Vargas and Alexis Sanchez, Chilean football is struggling to get young and talented players for the national team. The 2015 and 2016 Copa America champions have been eliminated and it is a disastrous campaign for them.

Argentina and Canada qualified from Group A while Chile and Peru exit the tournament.
