The newly launched Democracy Cup has been postponed to the third week of July with no proper reason given.

The game was due to take place at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday 5th July but it has been rescheduled to 17th July.

The two giants in Ghanaian football suffered in the just ended Ghana Premier League where Accra Hearts of Oak avoided relegation on the last matchday.

It took His Royal Majesty, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II’s intervention before Asante Kotoko stopped a 9 game winless run.

It is an opportunity for any of the two teams to appease their fans wuth a win for the shambolic performances they exhibited during the season.

Asante Kotoko defeated Hearts of Oak home and away in the 2023-24 Ghana Premier League.

The event will be part of the celebrations marking the 30th anniversary of Ghana’s Parliament.

The winner of this match will go on to face DC United in Washington, USA.
