I call him the leader of the new school. He’s the Club C.E.O of the Year. His second season at the top tier of Ghanaian football has earned Samartex a league title; his name is Richard Duah Nsenkyire.
Richard Nsenkyire, the president of Samartex SC has disclosed that Ghanaian clubs must change from the mass transfers that they have been doing recently because it doesn’t yield any results for the teams.
In an interview with 3Sports, the current best football C.E.O in Ghana said, “I always want to give my players the opportunity to play in Ghana, then Africa before they move on to play anywhere in the world.
“I support the transfer policy of clubs lately but I believe the players should move at the right time,” Richard Nsenkyire revealed.
“I don’t believe in the mass transfer of players after just a season because I believe a player must attain a certain level,” continued Nsenkyire.
Mass transfer of players have become a huge problem for Ghana football. Asante Kotoko has released 22 players and must replace all of them. This is very unbelievable as it doesnt happen anywhere across the globe.
Nsenkyire explained, “This is because when you leave the shores of this country, you have to command a first-team place where you are moving to and bring a trophy and not just for the money. Players who leave should be able to represent the Black Stars at any point in time”.
Duah Nsenkyire opined that players must stay and develope very well in Ghana so that they can command regular positions wherever they will find themselves outside the country.
