Black Stars have the chance to bounce back against Niger in the qualifiers for the 2025 AFCON to be played in Morocco in December 2025 and January 2026.

Otto Addo and his men cannot afford to drop a point in this crucial game as any result apart from win will put the Black stars in a tight corner.

On Thursday 6th September at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, Ghana lost 1-0 to Angola. It was the first time in 24 years that the Black Stars has lost in Kumasi. It was a disastrous fixture for Ghana and they have incredibly gotten the opportunity to forget it quickly.

The game is been played in Morocco because Niger is one of the 22 countries whose venue doesn’t meet CAF and FIFA’s required standard. Niger will be eager to at least win a point after they lost 1-0 against Sudan in their first game of the qualifiers.

Ghana is expected to make a change at the back with Basaksehir’s, Jerome Opoku set to replace Abdul Mumin at the center back. Also, Majeed Ashimeru is line to replace Elisha Owusu and partner Thomas Partey in the double pivot role.

Asamoah Gyan, Christian Atsu and John Boye’s goals helped Black Stars smashed Niger 3-0 in the Group B of the 2013 AFCON. Repeat of this scoreline will be so great for Ghana.
