When it rains it pours!! Ghanaian football has returned to the 1960s when they used to struggle to play on better pitches and venues.

This is the situation the once power house of African Football has reached. Ghanaian Football has now moved from Grace to Grass and the average Joe knows that.

Fans, coaches, teams and administrators have complained bitterly about the state of facilities in Ghana but no one stood up to address the situation.

CAF said enough is enough after Ghana’s 1-0 defeat to Angola in the opening fixture of the 2025 AFCON qualifiers.

The National Sporst Authority and the Sports Ministry could not bear the embarrassment and decided to close down the Baba Yara Sports Stadium for an intense work to meet CAF’s requirement.

Just a week later, Accra Sports Stadium and Cape Coast Stadium have also been closed down.

Already, the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium in Tamale is under renovation after it was left to rot.

The Essippong Stadium in Sekondi is the worst among them all and it also has been crying for help.
