“To be honest, I wish to play at the World Cup”- Nigeria goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali

Ghc47.5m, was spent within 2 weeks in Côte D’Ivoire during the 2023 AFCON, per Sports Minister, Mustapha.

A whooping $3m was wasted in Ivory Coast in Ghana’s disastrous campaign in the 2023 AFCON.

Black Stars failed to win a single game in Ivory Coast as Cape Verde won 2-1, Egypt drew 2-2 and Mozambique drew 2-2. Ghana was shockingly eliminated from the group stage.

Per Mustapha Ussif, the Sports Minister of Ghana, the 3 million dollars was apent on flights and logistics.

It is very unbelievable to see a country that doesn’t have ordinary pitches spent $3m in just two weeks on a competition that the winner takes home just $7m.

The Sports Minister and his Ministry has been quoting monies that really beats the imagination of Ghanaians lately on sporting events.
