Randy Abbey, a member of the Ghana Football Association Executive Council has defended the $100,000 each received during the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The GFA was summoned on Tuesday to adress all issues concerning football to the Parliamentary Select Committee on Sports, Culture and Tourism.

“People hold others responsible when there’s failure. Why must these people not be recognized when there is success? If you think it is okay to hold people responsible when there is failure, why must you not see it as okay to reward those people when there is success?” said Dr. Ransford Abbey.

The Ghanaian football community have been wondering why one person should receive $100k from the Black Stars all in the name of being an EXCO member of the GFA.

Alhaji Grusah, the bank roller of Kumasi-based King Faisal Babes disclosed after the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar after a fall out with the GFA with the FA denying it.

Dr Randy Abbey believes they deserve it because Ghanaians always break them into pieces when things go wrong. Why shouldn’t they enjoy when things are right? Was anything right in Qatar?

The winner of the 2023-24 Ghana Premier League received $50k as the prize money. A lot of money must be invested in the league if we want to see a huge progress.

How can one man takes home a bonus more than the winner of the league?
