In an Exclusive Interview with Flashcore, former Black stars and Hearts of Oak winger Laryea Kingston supported the underfire Ghana head coach Otto Addo by saying he should remain at post contrary to what millions of Ghanaians are saying.

Ghanaians are angry and have demanded the sacking of Otto Addo and the president of the Ghana Football Association after the disastrous campaign of the AFCON 2025 qualifiers in the last three months.

“I think we should allow him (Otto Addo) to at least finish the World Cup qualifiers. Who knows? Maybe he can qualify”. The former Ghana U20 head coach, Laryea Kingston, suggested the FA should not touch Otto Addo but rather they should let him continue the job because he has what it takes to do so.

“And then after that, we decide as a country. So we should give him another opportunity. If we change the coach and the technical team and bring new faces, it will be a disaster.”

Laryea, who played for the national team predicated doom for Ghana if the Football Association decides to part ways with Otto Addo because bringing on new faces for the technical role will disrupt the preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Ghana failed to beat any of Angola, Sudan, and Niger in the six home and away games played at the 2025 AFCON qualifiers.

Otto Addo and his charges will resume action in March 2025 with a visit to Chad and a visit to Madagascar on matchday 5 and 6.
