Asante Kotoko decided to host their home games at the Obuasi Len Clay Sports Stadium when the National Sports Authority decided to close down the stadium for renovation.
It was either the Baba Yara Sports Stadium or the DR Kwame Kyei Sports Complex at Abrankese for Fabulous but they chose Obuasi.
Baba Yara Sports Stadium has been Kotoko’s stronghold since the stadium was built, so their return is probably the best news so far this season for the Fabulous family.
The Len Clay Sports Stadium hosted Kotoko in their first six home games of the season with the club winning three, drawing one and losing two.
The Obuasi fans showed enormous love to Fabulous and they will dearly miss their beloved Asante Kotoko.
Asante Kotoko will play their first game against Kwamo Future Stars at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in round 64 of the 2024-25 MTN FA Cup on Sunday afternoon.
Victory over the Division One Club will be the beginning of good things at the venue for Kotoko, but a defeat will surely dump the spirit of the fans ahead of the return to Kumasi.
Ghana Premier League will resume on 14th December when the club face perennial rivals Accra Hearts of Oak at the historic Stadium.
The fixture is the right one to announce to the fans that the Porcupine Warriors are indeed back at the Kumasi Sports Stadium.
