Mr. Korsi Asiseh, a Ghanaian journalist and the Managing Director of Kapital Radio, has urged President-elect John Dramani Mahama to stabilize the country’s economy.
He asserts in a post on Facebook that if Ghana’s economy stabilizes, its citizens will be able to work hard to support themselves.
However, Mr. Asiseh, noted that the task ahead of John Mahama would not be simple.
“President elect His Ex. John Dramani Mahama. We know the task ahead is not easy. We are not asking for much. Just stabilize the economy. We will hustle to take care of ourselves,” he wrote.
The Chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana, Jean Adukwei Mensa, declared John Dramani Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) as the President-elect of the 2024 election.
The announcement marks a return to power for Mahama, who previously served as President from 2012 to 2017.
Mr. Mahama secured a decisive victory with 6,328,397 votes, representing 56.55% of the total vote. His main contender, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), received 4,657,304 votes, accounting for 41.61%.
This victory has been celebrated by NDC supporters across the country, who took to the streets to express their joy and support for Mahama.
