Ghanaian clubs are well known for releasing so many players at the end of every season without getting any financial gains from it.
Asante Kotoko has released more than ten players at the end of the 2023-24 season with many fans criticizing the decion by the club. Many believe it has suddenly become part of the club’s plans as they just terminate an unbelievable number of players’ showing how poor they are at the management level.
Hearts of Oak’s head coach Aboubakar Ouattara has expressed his dissapointment in the number of players Asante Kotoko has released from their squad.
Speaking to SportsObama TV, the Ivorian tactian said, “You are sacking 100 and bringing in 200, what is the results?” Ouattara asked.
“Let us go slowly. When you go slowly, you have 100% chance to achieve something. Sacking 11, 22, 100 players, we bring in 100 and we start again, you are [wasting] money,” added the Hearts of Oak head coach.
The Ivorian tactician advised Asante Kotoko on the decision to always sack many players at the end of every season as it distablizes the rythm and development of the club. He also disclosed that the idea of sacking and signing many players at the end of every season wastes the club’s money.
