AFCON 2025 round up: Sudan starts campaign with win as Rwanda secures point in Libya

The road to Morocco 2025 commenced on Thursday with James Kwesi Appiah’s Sudan narrowly triumphing 1-0 over Niger to take the lead in Group F. Abobakar Eisa’s early strike in the second half made the difference for Sudan.

Comoros drew 1-1 with the Gambia with Troyes’ Youssouf M’changama scoring the opener for the home side in the 37th minute. Musa Barrow on the stroke of half time equalised for Jonathan McKinstry’s Gambia. The game ended 1-1 helping the Gambia steal one point in Comoros

At the Tripoli International Stadium, Rwanda secured an important 1-1 draw against Libya. Subhi Al Dawhi scored in the first half to put Libya ahead. Innocent Nshuti in the second half scored to help Rwanda secure a crucial point.

Tanzania at the Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium in Dar es Salaam woefully drew goalless agianst Ethiopia.
