Finally, CAF has confirmed the exact date for the next AFCON to be played in Morocco.
The last edition was hosted in West Africa by Ivory Coast in January-February 2023.
At the much-awaited CAF Executive meeting on Friday, CAF confirmed the tournament will be played from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026.
The announcement of the date for the competition will not be a surprise to many because CAF has been very indecisive in recent years as they have been succumbing to FIFA’s pressure.
In the history of the illustrious Africa Cup of Nations, the tournament has been mostly held in January and February except for the 2019 edition that was played across June and July.
Morocco is expected to follow the successful tournament hosted by Ivory Coast earlier this year with proper organisation.
