Francis Ngannou shocked the world with his display in his debut bout against the then undefeated Heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury, on 28th October 2023 at the Kingdom Arena in Royadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia.

Ngannou’s switch from MMA to Boxing was schoking as the two are poles apart. Ngannou was able to knockdown Fury but eventually lost on a controversial split decision.

In his next bout against British Heavyweight boxer, Antony Joshua, Ngannou was dominated and lost in the 2nd Round via knock down.

Born in Batie Hauts-Plateau in Cameroon, the 37-year-old in an interview disclosed some Americans mentality about Africa.

“When I tell Americans that I’m from Cameroon, in Africa, they’ll be surprised that I’ve never seen a Lion. Americans still think Africa is a wîld Jungle.”

“Most people still think Africa is a zõo. Some people even ask me how many times I’ve been hurt by a Lion and when I tell them that I’ve even been chased by a Lion, they’re surprised.

“A lot of people in Americ a both Black and White are naive about Africa. I think people in America are so locked up in the American culture that they see Africa as a wild Jungle. Americans don’t really know anything about other parts of the world especially Africa.” – Francis Ngannou said.

Nicknamed The Predator, the 6ft 4in fighter was extremely surprised to see many Americans still having poor mentality about the African continent.
