It was Liverpool’s sixth defeat in the last seven Premier League games, unbelievably, when Nottingham Forest won 3-0 at Anfield on Saturday afternoon with goals from Murillo, Savona and Gibbs-White separating the two sides.

Disappointment was written all over the faces of Liverpool’s players, technical staff and the fans at Anfield when the referee whistled for the end of the game.

Speaking to the BBC after the game in the post-match conference, Liverpool’s Dutch manager was so disappointed with the performance and accepted the blame for the defeat.

“Another big disappointment,” Slot said.

“We started quite well for the first half an hour. We conceded the 1-0 and we weren’t able to play the way we did in the first half hour,” he added. Liverpool looked so well in the first thirty minutes after creating so many chances and failing to score.

“If things go well or things go bad, it’s my responsibility,’ Slot accepted.

The Liverpool manager is little by little coming under immense pressure after the club’s series of defeats. He accepted the blame and is hoping things will change soon for his team.

“We weren’t able to create enough. I tried to adjust a few things, but it didn’t work out,” Slot concluded.

The Reds currently occupy 11th position after winning just six games and losing six in the twelve games played. The defending champions have conceded 20 goals thus far, having scored just 18.

Slot’s side will be eager to return to winning ways when they travel to West Ham next weekend. They will host Sunderland and travel to Leeds in their next three league games.
