Bad injury news has rocked Asante Kotoko after in-form striker Albert Amoah has been confirmed to be out for two months.

Albert Amoah’s goals were carrying Asante Kotoko when they had no one to bang in the goals for the club.

Signed from Accra Great Olympics ahead of the 2024-25 season, the fantastic forward has scored 6 goals in the Ghana Premier League helping the club to close the points gap to just two between league leaders Heart of Lions, albeit the Porcupine Warriors sits 6th on the log with 28 points.

The 23-year-old has made 13 appearances in the Ghana Premier League so far. He has scored 7 goals in 1036 minutes so far.

His absence is a big blow because he is the club’s leading scorer and has won the club 16 points out of the 28.

New signing Kwame Poku has hit the ground running since joining the club after scoring three goals in three appearances. His signing is a blessed one for the club as he is set to assist the club in scoring goals.

Isaac Mintah and Sampson Eduku have also signed for the club and are expected to score goals in the club’s bid to win the GPL to compete in Africa.

Head coach Prosper Ogum Nateh expressed his disappointment in the loss of the striker.

“It’s tough losing both Albert and Kotei at this busy stage of the season. I was immediately concerned when it happened, Albert is naturally strong, but his reaction to the impact was worrying. Injuries are part of the game, though, and we’re hopeful he’ll recover quickly, as he’s done before,” Ogum said.

Albert Amoah sustained the injury in their last league game against Medeama SC at the new TnA Stadium on match-day 16 and was not in the squad for the game against Acceler8z FC over the weekend due to the same reasons.
