The Porcupine Warriors secured a place in the finals of the MTN FA Cup after a 1-0 victory over fellow Premier League side Berekum Chelsea. Karim Zito has the chance to win his second MTN FA Cup trophy in three seasons as a clash against Golden Kick is winnable, although they have been extremely sensational.

The tie had promised to be a cagey one because Samuel Boadu, the head coach of Berekum Chelsea, knows how to manage things at this level after twice winning the FAS Cup with Hearts of Oak. After a goalless draw in the first half, both teams fancied their chances to snatch the victory. Both teams looked sharper and ready but failed to score. Albert Amoah, in the 81st minute, outjumped everyone and headed Baba Yahaya’s cross into the back of the net.

Chelsea had the toughest day on Mother’s Day as they had just 9 minutes to restore parity. Asante Koto sailed through with the 1-0 lead.

Asante Kotoko will be playing in their 14th FA Cup finals. They have won 9 and lost 4 in their last 13 finals since 1958.

The Porcupine Warriors on 15th June at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium will face the incredible Access Bank Division One side, Golden Kick.
