Ugandan speedster Stephen Mukwala has confirmed the end of his union with Asante Kotoko.

In a video confirming his exit from the Porcupine Warriors family, the 24-year-old thanked His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II for welcoming him to Oseikrom.

“Hello people out there, this is probably the saddest day of my life. As I’m saying goodbye to a home that has given me the platform to grow my football career, I want to thank his majesty, the King, for welcoming me to Ghana.

“I want to thank Mr Nana Yaw Amponsah for spotting me and finding me to play for one of the biggest clubs in Africa. I will always be grateful.

“I want to thank Prosper Ogum for believing in me in the most difficult of times.

“Also, I want to thank Coach Appiah for supporting me in a challenging time.

“To the administration at large, I want to thank Mr Newton (Dasosberi).

“Lastly, to my teammates and the Fabulous fans, I love you so so much. You are the best I have encountered,” said Stephen Mukwala who’s set to sign for Simba as a free agent.

Many Asante Kotoko fans are very worried about his departure from the club as they believe he’s a great player who can add enough quality to the team.

The Ugandan Usain Bolt joined Asante Kotoko in 2022 from URA SC. The former Vipers and Maroon forward scored 14 goals in 28 Ghana Premier League games in the just-ended season.

In the 2022-23 season, Mukwala scored 11 goals in 31 matches for Asante Kotoko in the Ghana Premier League. The Ugandan International became fans’ favourite because of his blistering pace and his ability to torment any defence in the Ghana Premier League.
