Per Ghana Football Association, Fenerbahce, center back, Alexander Djiku will miss Black Stars’ clashes against Angola and Niger in the second week of September in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers.

According to preliminary scans, the player sustained a Grade One strain in the anterior region of his right thigh (Quadri ceps), which would require 10–14 days to heal. As a result, he will not be able to participate in the qualifiers.

Djiku, 30, has been Otto Addo’s first choice center back followed by Mohammed Salisu. The duo’s partnership is proving to be an excellent one so Ghana will definitely miss his services.

Alexander Djiku has made 29 appearances and scored twice for the Black Stars of Ghana.
