Ghanaian striker Brandon Asante-Thomas can’t stop scoring now for Frank Lampard’s red-hot Coventry City in the English Championship.

The English-born opened the scoring for Coventry City in their 3-1 win over Watford, making it six consecutive victories.

He wasted no time asserting his presence at the Coventry Building Society Arena, heading home the opener just three minutes into the match.

The goal came from a pinpoint cross by Japanese forward Tatsuhiro Sakamoto, which Thomas-Asante met with precision to give Coventry an early lead.

His quick strike set the tone for a dominant first-half performance by Frank Lampard’s side, who are unbeaten this season in the Championship and pushing hard for Premier League promotion.

Coventry doubled their advantage just four minutes later through Jamie Allen, capitalising on Watford’s defensive disarray.

Sakamoto then added a third before halftime, capping a ruthless attacking display.

Watford’s troubles deepened when Ghanaian defender James Abankwah was sent off in the 44th minute, leaving the visitors with ten men for the entire second half.

Despite the setback, Watford managed a consolation goal after the break, with Moroccan midfielder Imran Louza converting from the penalty spot.

Thomas-Asante’s goal marked his ninth of the season in just 11 appearances, along with three assists, underscoring his importance to Coventry’s promotion charge.

His consistency in front of goal has made him one of the standout performers in the Championship, with contributions in each of his last six matches.

Coventry now sit atop the league table with 28 points from 12 games, and with Thomas-Asante leading the line, their Premier League ambitions look increasingly realistic.
