Central Region: 65-year-old woman beheaded by nephew

A tragic incident occurred on Monday, October 20, 2025, in the Breman-Benin community of the Asikuma Odoben-Brakwa District, Central Region, where a 65-year-old woman, Gladys Abena, was allegedly murdered by her nephew, Kojo Sam.

According to eyewitness accounts, the suspect forcibly entered the victim’s room armed with a pestle, assaulted her multiple times, dragged her outside, and continued the attack with repeated stabbings before ultimately beheading her.

Community members and relatives disclosed that Kojo Sam had previously issued threats against his aunt during family disputes.

Despite these warnings, the family reportedly chose to resolve the matter privately without involving law enforcement.
