Chelsea has officially confirmed the appointment of former Leicester City’s manager, Enzo Maresca, as the new manager to lead the club.

The 44-year-old young Italian manager has signed a whopping 5-year contract to be at Stamford Bridge for Chelsea’s rebuilding.

Enzo Maresca has only one and half years experience in football management as he spent half a season with Italian Serie B side Parma before taking the role of Pep Guardiola’s assistant.

Leicester City appointed him to lead them back to the top tier of English football after suffering relegation in the 2022-23 season. Enzo Maresca in his only full season as a manager duly delivered and won the English Championship with Leicester City which confirmed their return to the Premier League.

Enzo Maresca replaces the Argentine tactician Mauricio Pochettino who parted ways with Chelsea after finishing 6th in the just-ended season.

Many Chelsea fans were furious with the sacking of Pochettino because they thought he had found the right balance and rhythm for the team.

Maresca will be Chelsea’s 4th permanent manager since Roman Abramovich was forced to sell the team barely two years ago.
