It is more than two years since Colombia lost any type of football game; being a friendly, World Cup qualifiers or Copa America.

Colombia led by the veteran James Rodriguez has exceeded expectations and are just a win away from lifting a major trophy.

Marcelo Bielsa’s Uruguay had great opportunity to turn the scorleine after Crystal Palace’s Daniel Munoz was sent off on the stroke of half time.

James Rodriguez who won his 4th man of the match award provided the assist to Jefferson Lerma in the 39th minute to open the scoring for the much fancied Colombia.

Uruguay went into the break a goal down but a man’s advantage.

The second half was all Uruguay as they suffocated Colombia with the numerical advantage after failing to convert any of the 8 goal attempts.

Marcelo Bielsa will rue the missed opportunity after complete dominace of the second half.

Colombia will play against World champions Argentina for glory on early Monday morning.
