Argentina has made it to their third successive finals in major tournaments after beaten Canada 2-0 in East Rutherford in New Jersey at the Metlife Stadium.

The defending champions of the Copa America are also the defending champions of the FIFA World Cup and will play aginst one of Uruguay or Colombia who are set to clash for a place in the finals on early Thursday morning in Charlotte.

Julian Alvarez opened the scoring in the first half for Lionel Scaloni’s much-fancied Argentina. As expected, the world champions dominated and was very comfortable dealing with Jesse Marsch’s Canada.

8-time Balon d’Or winner and skipper of Argentina, Lionel Messi scored his first goal of the tournament after touching Enzo Fernandes’ goal bound effort to double their lead.

It was so smooth and easy for the defending champions en route to the finals of the 2024 COPA America.
