Turkey won 3-1 against debutants Georgia in a match many believe has been the most competitive game since Friday. Murt Muldur, Arder Guler and Aktürkoğlu scored for Turkey while Mikautadze got the consolation for Georgia.
Francisco Conceição scored the winner in the 92nd minute for Portugal to ensure a good start for Roberto Martinez’s side. Czech Republic scored first early in the second half. Lukas Provord scored the opener while an own goal from Hranac restored parity. Conceicao broke the Czech Republic’s heart with a late winner.
Today
Croatia will play Albania in a game none of the two teams can afford to lose. Croatia was thrashed by Spain 3-0 in their opening game while Albania was narrowly pipped by
Italy 2-1. A defeat for any of them can send them home.
Host Germany will square off against Hungary. The Hungarians have fared pretty well against Germany in recent years and will hope to continue it. Naggelsman’s Germany will progress if they win and that will be a huge motivation this afternoon.
Scotland must avoid defeat against the much more confident Switzerland. The Tartan Army was smashed by Germany while Switzerland brushed aside Hungary. A defeat for Steve Clark’s Scotland can eliminate them while a win for Murat Yakin’s Swiss will send them to the knockout stage.
