Former Black Syats midfielder Derrick Boateng has fired the Ghana Football Association for being so incompetent and interested in only money at the expense of basic things that will make Ghanaian football attractive.
Speaking with 3Sports Ghana, the 41-year-old former Getafe and Panathinaikos midfielder was livid with cirrent state of Ghana’s football.
“The only thing they [GFA] care about for me, i will say it and say it everyday is money”, said Boateng.
It is no secret that the GFA is all about money. Ghana is now on the verge of playing outside the country due to lack of planning and care for our facilities. No one cares about the development of football especially the GFA.
“We have players playing in Europe on a good field and you expect them to come and perform well, to win games on our poor pitches and if the win is not coming then it becomes problem.
“The FA people know what it takes for a player to perform well so they should up their game”, Derrick continued.
“You cannot tell me that Thomas Partey will train and play on that Arsenal pitch and with that facilities and expect him to train on ours and perform well. I’m not asking for the same facilities but they should please do better.
“If the FA cares about football, they have to make sure that those things are done before they come to play games for Ghana”, concluded Derrick Boateng.
Ghana is yet to learn the venue for the crucial 2025 AFCON qualifiers against Sudan next month.
