President Akufo Addo has sacked the Director General of the National Sports Authority, Dodzie Numekevor, with immediate effect.

Dr Dodzie Numekevor was appointed as the interim Director General of the National Sports Authority on 26 February 2024, following the departure of Professor Peter Twumasi, who served in the role for six years.

This follows the disgraceful and shameful banning of the country’s stadia from hosting Category ‘A’ football matches.

The NSA has been under immense pressure from Ghanaians because of their irresponsibilities. Many have called for the sacking of everyone associated with the National Sports Authority.

Ghana is due to play their home game against Sudan outside the country in matchday 3 of the 2025 AFCON qualifiers.
