Days after her private wedding to Old Tafo Member of Parliament Vincent Ekow Assafuah, medical doctor and entrepreneur Dr Charis has publicly reacted
Days after her private wedding to Old Tafo Member of Parliament Vincent Ekow Assafuah, medical doctor and entrepreneur Dr Charis has publicly reacted to the circulation of videos from the ceremony on social media, expressing disappointment that the event she intended to keep private ended up online.
The couple tied the knot on Saturday, March 7, 2026, in a private ceremony held in Nkoranza in the Bono East Region. The event, according to reports, was organised as a strictly invitation-only ceremony attended by close family members, friends and selected political figures.
Among the notable personalities who reportedly graced the occasion were the Minority Leader of Parliament, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, Oforikrom MP Michael Kwasi Aidoo, former Energy Minister Matthew Opoku Prempeh and the National Organiser of the New Patriotic Party, Henry Nana Boakye.
Despite the private nature of the ceremony, videos from the wedding later surfaced online, showing the couple dressed in matching traditional outfits while celebrating their union with guests.
The footage quickly circulated across several social media platforms, attracting public attention and sparking conversations among online users.
Reacting to the development in a TikTok video shared on March 9, Dr Charis expressed surprise and mild frustration over the leak. In the video, she was seen flaunting her wedding ring while explaining that she had hoped to keep the ceremony away from public scrutiny, including her social media followers.
According to her, the circulation of the footage forced her to search across various online platforms to see videos from her wedding.
She remarked humorously that it seemed unusual that she had to go from “blogger to blogger” to watch clips from her own marriage ceremony. She added that she had intended the event to remain private, but circumstances made it widely visible on social media.
The remarks quickly triggered reactions from social media users, many of whom congratulated the couple while also commenting on the glamour of the wedding.
Some users suggested that the beauty of the ceremony made it difficult for attendees to keep the footage private, while others noted that they had seen the videos earlier without initially recognizing the bride.
Before the wedding, Dr Charis had also explained in a resurfaced video why she chose to keep her relationship with the MP away from public attention.
According to her, she preferred not to frequently post about her partner online because she feared situations where other women might claim to have been romantically involved with him.
That explanation has since resurfaced in online discussions, especially following the circulation of the wedding videos and subsequent social media debates surrounding the couple.
Dr Charis is widely known online as a health advocate, fitness enthusiast and social media personality. Beyond her medical career, she also operates a vehicle importation business known as Charis Holdings, which specializes in sourcing vehicles from China for clients.
Meanwhile, the marriage between the Old Tafo legislator and the medical doctor continues to generate conversation across social media platforms, particularly after the private ceremony unexpectedly became a trending topic online.
