The founder of the Progressive Peoples Party (PPP), Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom, has called for the total overhauling of the Ghana Football Association.

The politician cum businessman, who is also a huge fan of football on his Facebook wall expressed how disappointed he is when it comes to how football is run in the country.

“The GFA needs a serious overhaul. A few people at the top feed on FIFA money and leave the clubs, referees, and players hungry. What are we waiting for? More death bankruptcies and Black Stars losses?”

Unquestionably, Ghana football needs a total reset, as many Ghanaians have requested in the last four years. Nothing has been done about the 99 problems the nation’s football has been facing.

The granddaddy of all the problems Ghana football is facing is embezzlement by top officials. The people at the Ghana Football Association have been hiding behind the Black Stars and sharing money for their personal use.

He asked, “When will Ghanaians recognize that our football leagues don’t qualify as entertainment platforms?”

Football has been the biggest source of happiness for many Ghanaians for more than five decades. Ghanaians are known all over the world for their love of the game, but it seems it is now turning out to be something terrible for people.

Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom wrote his comments in the wake of the gruesome stabbing to death of Asante Kotoko and Ghana Premier League’s biggest promoter, Pooley, at Nsuatre on Sunday when the Porcupine Warriors visited Nsoatreman FC.

The Black Stars failed to qualify for the 2025 AFCON as it became the biggest news of the year 2024 in sports in Africa.
