In round 6 of the Europa League, Olympique Lyon welcomed Eintracht Frankfurt to the Park Olympique Lyonnais in Lyon where the French side epically won 3-2.

It has been a season that Ghanaian forward Ernest Appiah Nuamah has not hit the standard expected of him by Lyon.

Ansgar Knauff opened the scoring for Frankfurt in the 18th minute. Rayan Cherki continued his fine form for Lyon by restoring parity in the 27th minute for the home side.

Malick Fofana earlier in the second half put the home team in front. Ghanaian forward Ernest Nuamah in the 54th minute took a wonderful first time touch on the edge of the box and exquisitely curled the ball into the top left corner to make the scoreline 3-1 for Lyon.

It was the Ghanaian forward’s first goal of the season and it was so important for his confidence.

Red-hot Egyptian winger Omar Marmoush pulled one back for Frankfurt but it was too late for the Germans to stage a comeback.
