Ghanaian gospel musician Florence Obinim has reportedly initiated divorce proceedings against her husband, Bishop Daniel Obinim, following their public separation after 24 years of marriage.

Reports indicate that Florence is seeking GH¢2 million in damages, alongside several properties and other financial provisions as part of the reported divorce claims.

Among the assets she is said to be demanding are a mansion at Trassaco Valley in East Legon, Accra, and another property in Barcelona, Spain.

The reported list also includes a 21-unit block of shops in Tema, Abroso Guest House in Accra, and a multi-storey property said to accommodate residential apartments, guest-house facilities and church premises.

Florence is further reported to be seeking two luxury vehicles and a weekly allowance of GH¢10,000 to cover her upkeep and personal expenses. The claims reportedly leave room for additional properties that a court may consider appropriate.

The demands became public after Bishop Obinim reportedly addressed the matter during a Sunday service at his International God’s Way Church.

Reacting to the reported claims, the founder of the church questioned the demands and indicated that he was prepared to contest the matter. He reportedly insisted that he would not pay his estranged wife any money.

Bishop Obinim also alleged that some individuals were influencing Florence and warned that their involvement could lead her down a destructive path.

The reported divorce claims have attracted public attention given the couple’s long marriage and their prominence within Ghana’s gospel music and religious communities.

However, the specific demands and the status of the proceedings remain subject to confirmation through the relevant court records.

The reported claims should not be taken as a court ruling on how the couple’s assets or financial obligations will ultimately be settled.
